Looking at the holistic development.

Retrospecting on our growth in last five weeks.

A comparison between the first week and fifth week of mentorship program, would give us a reply on how far had we come and how rapid our growth was. From just a Software job aspirant to a basic coder, the growth was just beyond the scopes of what any Mentorship program can provide. We have come a long way technologically, but the growth was not only restricted there. We had come a far distance in the way we think and perceive facts, the way we approach problems, the way we solve problems and a lot more.

We marched into the fifth week of internship with the basics of Javascript that we have achieved from the fourth week of internship. Every programmking had sone basic rules and its those rukes which define any language. We first came to be at ease with those rules, so as to maintain the pace at which we are learning the language.

It was easy to build the knowledge on top, as the base was laid very stongly before. We were able to pickup each concept on top of the other very easily because of the way it was arranged and executed. We never felt any miss in between, as each concept was perfectly covered and explained. We kept notes and track of each of the concept and formulas of the programming, because we were very close to the real world of programming.

The illustrations and the examples on the way made the concept more understandable. The comparison of each programming concept with the real life usages and scenarios made the learning more easy. A never imaginable difficult world of programming now has now taken an easy form in front of us.

We have started our programming practice in the console of different browser. We started experimenting our own different combinations of object, arrays and many more basics of which we have got the grip of. We probably might haven’t even understood the difference this easily, of each of this concept if it ain’t from here. Our experiment in the same lead to both new knowledge as well as knowledge from errors.

The teams which was already formed during the starting sessions of the mentorship was given tasks. We were given the right to experiment and learn ourselves during every of the group discussions. This group consists of different types of ideas and methodologies. But the beauty lies in the fact that, we came to a common decision while the answering session was started. This gave us an happiness of even our voice being heard.

We then started programming for the problems we did during our problem solving sessions. This made the understanding of the programming into application level. We had to revise ourselves through all those taught before so as to do these problems and find solutions. Whenever we had a question of how something is possible in the programming, we experimented it on our own. We opened console, typed it ourselves, learnt and went on.

This week we had presentations and assignments as assigned by our personal mentors too. We were more confident to face the presentaton given and also we knew what to do this time in a more proper way. The ppt's became more precise and proper and our presentation was little more confident and convincible. This growth is just because of the time and effort put by each one in Surfboard. We ourself had a confidence that we are becoming better each moment by moment.

We have traveled a long way, along with the people in Surfboard payments to reach where we are right now. From just a dream of becoming a software developer to the reality of understanding the coding and typing programs for puzzles and riddles. This is a learning beyond just expectations. The world beyond just technology. The understanding beyond just learning. If we had taken up another pathway apart from the mentorship training programming, our knowledge would have just been trapped inside the scope of that certificate.

We started asking more of doubts to the ones around in Surfboard, because thats the culture we follow in the company. Learn from others and if they don’t know, lets learn together. Learning from each other not only helps in the understanding of the concept, but to develop interpersonal skills which is much more than just learning concept.

We had a different kind of demo meeting this Friday. All of them around were asked to show domo of what they were working on. This method gave us a more insight into the practical aspect of the project. We did our part of the week too for the demo.

We as usual had our Friday night games session. The same playfield, the same games, the same people. But the emotions with which we play this time has changed. We were playing with our besties. The screams and emotions echoes in our heart as it is an ever-lasting feeling forever. The nickname we gave for each other, the way we shouted them loud when something funny or great happened showed us a place beyond just the world of technology. This makes this mentorship program much stress free and an experience beyond just learning.
