A deep dive into the world of computing.

Our third week of internship was computers, computers & computers!

We are growing through the process of mentorship ordinarily to attain the extraordinary world of programming. Its been three weeks since the start of mentorship and we have learnt to utilize the simpler concepts to solve complex problems.

The world of Surfboard Payments has been come a little more closer.

Third week of our mentorship was guided and taken care by the personal mentors. They were around us whenever necessary and we were made to do tasks and learnings alongside with them. They explained about the projects they are currently working on and what are the role that they play in each stage of the project. The more interesting part of learning with them was knowing their stories and experience of being a developer from knowing nothing about programming. Each one of them had a solution in every mistake we made, because they too have did a lot of mistakes in the path of this journey. So, learning from such real-time developers is the greatest experience anyone can achieve through any mentorship program.

We were given assignments and topics to research and learn on. The topics varied from real-life scenarios to complete technical aspects. The main achievement through this was that, we had opportunity of knowing everything from the base of how to understand the topic, to research it, structure and present it. The powerpoint presentation gave us idea about public speaking, how to convince the audience about each topic and to interact with them and find ways to improve according to the comments and suggestions given by the mentors and others.

We were continuing the daily tasks of writing articles and reading which has made it easier for us to revise each day and grow.

We had a session on language and its significances. We were learning the rule of languages and its pattern. It was interesting to know and understand how the languages are arranged in a certain way and why those rules which are used today was formed. Understanding deep about the language and its logics made us think more about . We were given a task of developing our own language. This task made us think logically and when asked to apply rules to the language, we understood the purpose of rules and what their significance in modern day is . We were asked to do this activity in groups. When we were asked to write words and sentences based on the language they have created, thats when the fun arised. Trying to figure out the way creatively, made us each feel fascinated about the thought process of each one.

We started basics of computer programming language by using the knowledge we have gained from the language session. The divison of tokens, symbols and blocks was easily understandable when related with local language and learnt. We related programming words to the words in our real life action language. We also have started to see programming from a different perspective. A method of communicating with computers, inorder to achieve our requirements is what actually programming is. We were in the doorstep of programming. And we hoped to understand and learn more about programming in the upcoming weeks.

We ended our week with the regular demo meeting. This time in demo meet we could relate more with the projects happening around and we could feel ourselves growing in terms of technical and interaction level terms. The learnings and knowledge till now paved a clear path in front of us.
